An exciting opportunity has arisen to employ a Trainee Mental Health Practitioner within the Malvern Neighbourhood Mental Health Team. This role will focus on the delivery of population-based mental health care for the community of Malvern.
You will be working alongside a team of highly specialist practitioners and have direct relationships with the professionals within the local Primary Care Networks (PCN). If you are seeking a role that will encompass new ways of working that will be the future delivery of community mental health care in England, then this is an opportunity you should not miss. If you are a newly qualified RMN, OT or Social Worker, the Trainee MHP post offers a developmental package allowing you to work towards a Band 6 position in the team with guidance and support from experienced staff members and gives you the opportunity to spend time in other clinical areas to develop your knowledge and understanding of the service.
Consideration will be made for flexible working and there may be some opportunities for staff members to work from home where clinically possible.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of a Trainee Mental Health Community Practitioner within our team include (but are not limited to):
* Being supported in completing assessments on patients referred within the Malvern locality. Referrals would typically come from GPs; however, they may also come from internally within the trust or other agencies.
* Holding a caseload of patients with a range of mental health illnesses and providing treatment to these individuals using evidence-based interventions as appropriate.
* To develop care plans with patients and the MDT, utilizing these care plans to support them in recovery.
* To be able to risk assess and risk manage patients in response to their current needs.
* To be supported in taking part in the duty system and act appropriately when dealing with patients who are experiencing difficulties in the absence of their allocated worker.
* Receive clinical and managerial supervision regularly.
* A developmental plan will be available for this post, and if you meet the requirements of the developmental plan, you will be offered a Band 6 post within the team.
