Your new role Due to an increase in their workload, they are now looking for a Design Co-ordinator to join the design team supporting the team with the increase in workload from a variety of key clients, including the Environment Agency, Highways England and local authorities. As a result of design and build civil engineering schemes now becoming more common, coupled with projected workload, they are seeking a Design Co-ordinator to strengthen their busy design management team. Duties to include: Attending meetings with clients, including presenting, and discussing design ideas and solutions. Preparation of design documents, briefs, reports, and management plans. Development and management of design programmes. Reviewing design documents for compliance with scheme requirements, utilising gained knowledge and experience to advise on buildability and value engineering opportunities. What you'll need to succeed Good collaborative communication skills and programming software skills. Must have an engineering background which allows you to envisage how schemes are built, for example at experienced Senior Engineer, Sub Agent, Site Agent or Site Manager level. Understanding of the need to work to accepted design processes, procedures, guidance, codes and standards and common construction specifications. General understanding of common construction specifications and ideally an engineering background which allows you to envisage how schemes are built.
