An excitingopportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join a small legal team, providingadvice and assistance across both the employing Trust and also the neighbouringAcute Trust. The role will involve undertaking a variety of legal work, but withan emphasis on claims, although other types of work, such as inquest, court ofprotection or employment work may also be involved. The role is fulltime and there is opportunity to discuss working patterns. There will be amixture of working from home and also partly office based, with some travellingacross sites and courts in Herefordshire and Worcestershire and occasionallybeyond. Main duties of the job
This isa varied and interesting role, with an emphasis on ensuring that appropriateevidence is provided to investigate and support the management of claims. Therole also involves working with NHS Resolution and panel firms and thesuccessful candidate will support investigation of claims brought against theTrust, liaise with Trust clinicians, NHS Resolution or the appointed panelfirm, as well as supporting learning from claims or inquests. This roleis very focused on supporting front line staff and would suit someone whoreally wants to make a difference!

Qualifications
* Law degree or ILEX part 1 or level 3 or equivalent
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Knowledge
* A good understanding of the English legal system as well as the principles of negligence
* Basic knowledge of the rules of procedure of the Employment Tribunal, Coroners Court and County Court
Experience
* Previous experience in using various computer packages i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel etc.
* Previous experience of undertaking paralegal work in the fields of personal injury, clinical negligence, employment or inquests
* Previous experience in a similar Health or Social Care environment
* A good understanding of patient confidentiality and the Data Protection Act
