About The Role As the first Data Scientist at TrustedHousesitters, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's data strategy and analytics capabilities. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and CRM to uncover insights, develop predictive models and implement solutions that improve our users’ experiences. This is a unique opportunity to build a data science function from the ground up and make a tangible impact on our growth trajectory. Responsibilities Collaborate with engineering to establish scalable data pipelines and storage solutions Ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility across the organisation Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights Design and implement dashboards, reports, and visualisations for key stakeholders Build predictive and prescriptive models to support business functions such as customer segmentation and recommendation systems Deploy and monitor models in production environments, ensuring reliability and effectiveness Advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organisation Define and implement best practices for data science workflows and methodologies Mentor and guide future data science hires as the team grows Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field 5 years of experience in a data science role, B2C, ideally in a high-growth environment Proficiency in Python, R, or a similar programming language for data analysis and model building Having expertise in SQL and working with relational databases Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Looker) Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data intelligence platforms like Databricks Proven ability to frame business problems and translate them into data-driven solutions Strong statistical knowledge and experience with machine learning techniques Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders Self-starter with a passion for building systems and solving problems Important note: It is rare that candidates will have experience of everything in the job description, so please do not be put off from applying if you do not meet every aspect of the criteria listed Benefits In addition to a competitive salary and bonus, we offer a range of benefits, including: Fully remote work Discretionary 10% annual bonus scheme Generous equity options 25 days holiday annually plus bank holidays and Christmas to New Year closure Pension scheme: 5% from you as an employee and 3% from TrustedHousesitters Premium TrustedHousesitters pet owner and sitter membership.
