OCS are recruiting Security Officers at London Battersea Power Station
Full Time - 12 hour shifts
Salary - £13.44 per hour
Job Description
The role holder will develop operational excellence and best practice; optimizing our service and value offering to customers to achieve performance targets. You will bring innovation and ensure a high-performance culture within your remit. This is an active and visible role requiring strong communication competence in addition to procedural knowledge and adherence. Client, occupier & service provider interaction is significant and excellent relationship management skills are required.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Security Officer is responsible for the security, safety and welfare of building/estate inhabitants and visitors. The Security Officer will protect the assets in the building by maintaining a vigilant, pro-active security presence to minimize security risks to people and property. They will need to be able to spend reasonable periods of time during a 12-hour shift both on patrol and standing on post.
1. Ensure full understanding of the emergency procedures.
2. Ensure full understanding of the assignment instructions.
3. Ensure their post is correctly manned at the specified times. The includes being on post at the latest, the start time of your shift.
4. Ensure all equipment under their responsibility is serviceable and in good working order, escalating to the Supervisor if not.
5. Ensure all instructions, both written and verbal are adhered to.
6. Provide security escorts to all areas of the building as and when required.
7. Ensure a radio is always carried whilst on duty.
8. Report any issues immediately to your Supervisor, DSM or Manager.
9. Conduct themselves in a professional manner always.
10. Ensure SIA licence is always on your person and on display.
11. Control all aspects of access and egress to the building.
12. Ensure those who should not be granted access to the building are professionally and politely prevented from gaining access or escorted from the building.
13. Provide visitors to the building with helpful advice, guidance and information. And if not able to do so, direct to the correct personnel who can assist.
14. Complete internal and external patrols as instructed.
15. Assist in all types of evacuations and emergency incidents that may occur.
16. Respond to these in a calm and professional manner. Actively provide information to any emergency services when requested to do so.
17. Report security or safety issues to your supervisor or Manager immediately.
18. Deal with conflict in an appropriate and confident manner, if required.
19. Assist Supervisors in producing incident reports.
20. Carry out ID checks in line with instructions issued.
21. Carry out searches of areas and persons in accordance with assignment instructions.
22. Be vigilant to the Health & Safety risks.
23. Follow all reasonable requests for the Supervisor, Manager or any member of the Management team.
24. Ensure you are immaculately presented, in accordance with company regulations and client expectations.

25. Assisting the Supervisors & Manager of creating & maintaining a Security strategy that meets the client’s expectations and company vision.
26. This role will require significant interaction with clients, occupiers and fellow service providers. As well as interaction with external clients and stakeholders.
27. Ensure that the building’s ‘One Team’ ethos is being pioneered throughout.

Training
29. Undertake all training courses/modules requested. Such as emergency first aid.
30. Provide first aid services (if qualified) to tenants, visitors, colleagues or members of the public.
31. Assist in the induction and training of new team members.
Reporting
32. Provide any security related reports, as requested by the Supervisors and/or Manager.
33. Completing additional reports for Security Manager and Client Health & Safety Executive when requested.
Person Specification
34. Previous experience not essential.
35. Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative, often in challenging situations, as well as being a collaborative team player who will support colleagues and provide ideas to improve the whole team effort.
36. Customer focused with a strong knowledge of customer service skills.
37. Demonstrate a strong aptitude for multi-tasking.
38. Strong communication and influencing skills.
39. Excellent understanding of visitor management systems.
40. Excellent written and verbal communications.
41. Previous experience of Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
42. SIA Licence (Door Supervisor/Security) – Essential
43. Emergency First Aid at Work – Desirable
44. Fire Marshal/Fire Warden qualified – Desirable
45. Customer Service Qualification – Desirable
46. Heath & Safety Qualification – Desirable
