Anaesthetics and Recovery Clinical Educator in Theatres

An exciting opportunity to join the Theatre education team as a Clinical Educator in Anaesthetics and Recovery is being advertised as a permanent post. The successful post holder will be responsible for the delivery of clinical education, looking after students and apprentices, liaising with the university, allocations and rostering of new starters and ongoing recruitment. There will also be opportunity to help the team with interviews and preceptorship of new employees.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will establish and maintain an effective clinical educational environment within Theaters that supports staff in the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care to infants, children, young people and their families. They will deliver programmes of training and education that facilitate the on-going professional development for all levels of nursing, operating department practitioners and non-registered clinical workforce. The post holder will act as an expert resource and demonstrate clinical expertise in the delivery of Theatre care. They will be expected to maintain a clinical profile and work within the clinical environment supporting and developing staff clinical service need. The post holder will ensure education is delivered to support the national KPI for Theatres.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current Nursing and Midwifery Council Registration sub part 1 Children or Adult/ HCPC Registration
* SSSA Gold Assessor course or Equivalent
* PILS Course
* PG Cert Education or willingness to undertake
* Hons (level 6) study or equivalent
Knowledge and Nature of Experience
* Current experience working at senior Band 5 level or above in Theatres
* Current expert in area of clinical care
* Evidence of teaching both formally and informally
Analytical and Judgement skills
* Able to make skilled and balanced clinical decisions which will affect staff and service provision.
* Expert clinical skills within the clinical environment
Other requirements
* Professional appearance
* Able to walk and stand for long periods
