Salary: £200 - £300 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a driven and knowledgeable Economics Subject Lead to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or current Head of Department to lead a thriving subject area, influence curriculum design, and empower students with real-world economic understanding.
Responsibilities of the Economics Subject Lead:
Lead the development and delivery of a high-quality Economics curriculum for Key Stage 4 and 5.
Inspire and challenge students through outstanding teaching and subject expertise.
Manage a small team or work alongside Business & Economics colleagues to drive academic progress.
Monitor student attainment and implement strategies for continued improvement.
Promote enrichment activities, competitions, and university/career pathways in Economics.
Work collaboratively with the senior leadership team on departmental planning and policy.
Skills & Qualification:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience teaching Economics to KS5.
Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities and a track record of raising student achievement.
Brings deep subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a growth mindset.
Passionate about real-world learning and preparing students for further study and careers in Economics.
Previous leadership or curriculum development experience is highly desirable.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
