What is the role?
At Kemsley, our Assistant Plant Operators are part of the operations team and are responsible for monitoring and operating boilers and auxiliary plant equipment to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations.
What you will be doing?
Please see below a brief overview of the role and the responsibilities:
* Operating boilers and auxiliary plant equipment locally throughout the plant.
* Assisting with the hands-on operation of the plant during steady state, start-up, shutdown, and emergency situations as directed by the Plant Operator and Shift Team Leader.
* Ensuring day-to-day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit, reporting any non-compliance or incident to the Plant Operator and Shift Team Leader.
* Carrying out routine plant inspections and adjustments/operations as required and collecting and recording plant data.
* Working within the company’s Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System and all relevant legislation.
* Maintaining an accurate log of facility operations, activities, and events.
* The role involves working 12-hour shifts covering days and nights.
Desirable qualifications
* Experience of working within Energy from Waste or another similar environment is desirable but not essential.
* A practical approach to problem-solving and demonstrable hands-on ability in engineering operations.
* The ability to undertake training that is relevant to the post.
