Learning Support Assistant – Full-Time Role Location: Secondary School in Tameside Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time, Permanent A secondary school in Tameside is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting students and helping them overcome barriers to learning, particularly those with additional learning needs. Key Responsibilities: Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning challenges. Assisting students with their academic progress, focusing on core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science. Helping to create tailored learning resources and adaptations for students based on their individual needs. Supporting students in both the classroom and in smaller settings such as break-out sessions to ensure they can focus and engage with their learning. Assisting with classroom management and helping students develop key skills such as social interaction and emotional regulation. Liaising with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to provide the best support for students. Assisting with assessment and monitoring student progress, providing regular feedback on student performance. The Ideal Candidate: Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (preferred but not essential). An understanding of different learning needs and how to support students effectively. Patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with a genuine interest in making a positive difference to students' lives. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to work well within a team and independently. A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning (or similar) is an advantage.
