Due to continued business growth and expansion, our client is currently looking to recruit a Commercial Manager who can also support and assist with Estimating tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join a growing business working alongside the Lead Commercial Manager to ensure business tenders are secured and delivered on time and to budget.

Job Responsibilities:
The main function and responsibility of the Commercial Estimator / Manager is to support both the Lead Commercial Manager and Estimating team with tender enquiries. The successful applicant will have a strong commercial mindset with a focus on maximising profitability whilst ensuring customer satisfaction. The successful applicant will have strong organisational and communication skills and will have a proven track record of managing projects whilst ensuring these are completed on time and to budget.
1. Review, manage, and support all tender enquiries with the estimating team.
2. Coordinate workload with colleagues in the estimating team.
3. Direct and manage OTP projects up to an agreed value threshold whilst also supporting the Lead Commercial Manager with high value and/or complex projects and tenders.
4. Work closely with Construction and Technical Teams to price works accurately.
5. Attend Pre-start meetings where required – this may require site attendance.
6. Organise and manage procurement process from contract negotiation through to commencement on site, including dealing with key suppliers.
7. Manage commercials on all ongoing construction projects including monthly valuations.
8. Assist with requirements for Variation Orders.
9. Work alongside the Compliance Director to agree sub-contract terms and conditions.
10. Some estimating tasks may be required subject to workload.
Technical Knowledge / Qualifications:
1. Minimum of three years’ experience working within a similar role/environment is essential.
2. Previous experience within new contract negotiation is essential.
3. Previous experience managing tender process is essential.
4. Previous estimating experience is essential.
5. Knowledge of JCT / NEC3 contracts is desirable for the role.
6. Must be a strong communicator who can communicate efficiently and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
7. Strong organisational skills and be able to manage own workload.
8. Own transport is needed to location.
