We’re looking for a System Configuration, Assurance and Service Lead to join the Operational Technology branch of our IT department, who support our critical Command and Control systems across the Constabulary. These systems include real time incident management, logging, mapping, and a communications interface for radio and telephone. The C3IMS System Configuration, Assurance and Service Lead is a key role within the organisation for maintaining system stability and integrity for operational police users. The role will support Control Room Operations by providing expert advice and guidance on system use and policy, whilst ensuring all the systems are configured as required to support our mission success. They will act as the point of contact and coordination for the identification and management of faults, maintenance, planned outages, upgrades and expansion, and will drive system improvements through fault analysis, user feedback and available system upgrades, managing the implementation of agreed changes. Some of your responsibilities in this role will also include: Responsible for the quality assurance and integrity of the system and its contents, including; user account management and access control, confidentiality of information, availability of system data, managing and controlling all operational information used within the system Challenge non-compliance of system policy and procedure and national best practice directly with users and escalate where appropriate Perform the role of Information Assurance Administrator as required under the General Data Protection Regulations and Data Protection Act Contribute to the management of system policies and procedures by way of review, analysis and recommendation Own the day-to-day management for all service related activity, fault rectification and management, 3 rd party liaison and user support providing both technical and user support enabling the system manager to focus on strategic and major change initiatives Provide robust configuration management through controlled change process Identify areas of required training for system changes and produce the required documentation / packages. Deliver training (where not CLD) and guidance as required to all users (internal, external) and all ranks and grades Support the System Manager to deliver projects and system developments, taking the lead for the technical elements during deployment including the management of 3 rd party installers Use your gained knowledge to ensure that any system risks, issues and opportunities are identified, documented and administered through life Be a system super user providing expertise and advice as required Use specialist technical knowledge of the system, apply configuration and maintenance activity to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the system and its data Deputise for the C3IMS Manager during periods of absence, covering all aspects of the role Understand CNC’s obligations under MoPI, NSIR, NCRS etc. to ensure a fully compliant system. Keep abreast of changes to national guidance, policies, statute and law relating to police command and control systems To be successful in this role you will have the following experience and skills: ITIL Foundation qualified (minimum) Proven history of data collection, analysis and entry into critical systems Experience of managing and documenting system change and upgrades Experience of supporting a technical system with proven problem management and decision-making ability Demonstrable experience working to exemplary levels of integrity and attention to detail Experience of customer service for a technical system and providing subject matter expert advice and guidance Proficient in the implement and use of change control processes Ability to plan work activities and prioritise to meet operational deadlines and user needs Flexibility in working practices which will include some travel throughout the CNC establishments and supplier venues Required to work with discretion and confidentiality and will require minimum SC clearance level Ability to communicate complex technical issues to a wide audience Ability to communicate at all levels and able to persuade and influence key stakeholders There will be occasional travel to our sites in England and Scotland - a driving license is essential for this position in order to access these.
