Key Responsibilities:
1. The IT Network and Security Engineering Manager's primary responsibility is to work within the IT Infrastructure Team to oversee the streamlined operation of technology for Immunocore and ensure it aligns with the direction from the IT Director and business objectives of the Chief Information Officer and our executives.
2. This role will take control of overseeing a dynamic Hybrid environment, encompassing virtualised and containerised IT systems, platforms, and infrastructure, focusing on seamlessly integrating systems and processes to align with business needs while prioritising the delivery of exceptional user experiences.
3. The incumbent will utilise advanced technical skills to maintain and enhance infrastructure operations, ensuring seamless support to the business environment.
4. This role involves identifying opportunities for improvement to further streamline and modernise our operations, performing 3rd line duties within our environment catering to internal or external requirements.
5. Infrastructure Design and Architecture: Assisting in design and architecture of IT infrastructure solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements, scalability needs, and security standards.
6. Implementation and Deployment: Overseeing the implementation and deployment of infrastructure projects, including HCI, IAAS, virtualisation, and Cloud technologies.
7. Systems Administration: Managing and maintaining operating systems, containers, and middleware applications to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
8. Network Management: Advanced knowledge of security, routing, switching, and configuring or maintaining network devices to ensure reliable and secure network connectivity.
9. Security Management: Implementing or managing security measures to protect IT infrastructure against unauthorised access, cyber threats, and data breaches.
10. Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Implementing monitoring tools and processes to proactively monitor the health, performance, and capacity of infrastructure components.
11. Documentation and Compliance: Creating and maintaining technical documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
12. Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Investigating and resolving complex technical issues and incidents related to IT infrastructure.
13. Other: Collaborating with the IT Service Desk Manager and providing guidance to junior engineers.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Experience & Knowledge:
Essential:
1. IT infrastructure acumen, planning/scheduling expertise, and demonstrated superior analytical abilities.
2. 10+ years’ experience in senior IT roles.
3. Management of IT infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Cloud, B2B, Security, Wireless, and Hyperconverged implementations.
4. Demonstrated leadership qualities through proactive team participation.
Desirable:
1. Experience in Life Sciences or a Pharmaceutical company.
2. Experience with cloud-based architecture and containers.
Education & Qualifications:
Essential: Certification/s in relevant IT disciplines; Level 3 experience in a similar position.
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology.
Work Conditions: May require working irregular hours or travel locally, nationally, and occasionally internationally.
