If so, this role is for you Your Role TfGM are seeking a qualified Accountant to partner with the business & key functions through a significant period of change for Greater Manchester. As well as our more traditional transport construction projects and programmes, such as Metrolink, Interchanges easing road congestion, cycling and active travel programmes. We are now delivering a range of key priorities and becoming responsible for the running of the bus network and integrating part of the rail network; this being the largest transformational programme being delivered in Greater Manchester (also known as the Bee Network). You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on a wide variety of projects supporting and influencing the decision-making process by combining strong business partnering skills with an ability for in depth financial analysis to support your recommendations. This is hybrid role where you will be expected to work in the office 2 days per week. Who are we? Working as part of a finance team within the Finance function you will be the first point of contact for support with both finance and non-finance stakeholders in the delivery of projects and/or the Bus Operational areas that make a real difference to both the regional and national economy. Whilst there will be the standard month end processes, you will be involved in many other aspects in your role as Senior Revenue and Capital projects Accountants such as business case development; commercial contract discussions; finance function design and better ways of working; procurement evaluations and options analysis for decision support. You will be a fully qualified accountant who enjoys a fast moving, dynamic workload, with significant accounting and commercial experience involving funding models; management accounting; budgeting and forecasting. You will also have significant experience in business partnering across multiple finance and non-finance teams; preparing budgets and forecasts; have strong communication skills (both written and verbal); and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders using a variety of forms of communication. You will also have strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills; with the ability to interpret data, both written and numerical, whilst working to tight deadlines and meeting funding and operational targets.
