Maintenance Engineer - Lichfield (3-shift) Permanent

Key Details:
1. Salary: Basic of £31,117.93 plus shift premium - Shift premium for 3-shift rotation: £5,601.23 per annum total - £36,719.16
2. Bonus and Overtime: Available
3. Contract Type: Permanent, Working Pattern: Full Time
4. Working hours: 40 hours per week on either three shift rotation
Afternoon Shift: 2.00pm to 10.30pm Monday to Thursday, 11.00am to 5.00pm Friday
Morning Shift: 6.00am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday, 6.00am to 12.00noon Friday
Night Shift: 10.00pm to 6.30am Monday to Thursday, 4.30pm to 10.30pm Friday

Your mission:
As a Maintenance Engineer, your mission will be to repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment, machinery, or instruments to ensure they function reliably and comply with high Environmental, Health, and Safety Standards.
Your responsibilities:
1. Respond to break-downs and other operating problems and complete planned maintenance activities to minimise disruptions to manufacturing processes
2. Attend machines to assess planned maintenance activities and diagnose breakdowns
3. Establish a safe working area
4. Communicate with machine operators to attain information relating to the deviations
5. Assess the need to isolate
6. Advise production supervisors of expected duration of work if possible
7. Undertake appropriate repairs to machinery
8. Instruct machine operators to test machinery on completion of maintenance activity
9. Maintain tools and repair equipment to ensure good working order
10. Maintain detailed maintenance records so that Health and Safety is ensured and recurring problems with machinery, equipment or parts can be identified and addressed
11. Complete work order documents with the relevant information relating to the required maintenance activity
12. Complete take 2s and raise permits to work when the need to isolate occurs
13. Sign off permits when re-engaging power
14. Liaise with machine operators to sign off completed work orders
15. Capture all maintenance activities in relevant recording system
16. Complete appropriate audits on maintenance equipment
17. Feedback to the relevant individuals on proposed improvements to machinery, operator competence and/or any other relevant information
18. Set, calibrate or adjust equipment, machinery and instruments so that it complies with production specifications or instructions
19. Measure product lengths and angles
20. Identify opportunities to maximise product utilisation within British Standards
21. Respond to observations from machine operators on product calibration
22. Input corrections into operating system
23. Recheck product for new calibration changes
Technical competencies:
1. Production Services (e.g., Cranes)
2. Bar Production (e.g., Shear Lines)
3. Power Bending (e.g., manual and automatic Benders)
4. Coil Production (e.g., straightening and decoiling machines)
5. Threading & Coupling (e.g., Lenton and Dextra)
Required qualifications:
Candidates will ideally possess relevant qualifications i.e. City & Guilds etc. Candidates with a bias toward either mechanical or electrical disciplines will be considered.
