Main duties of the job The Estates Maintenance Department are looking to recruit an Electrical Estate Officer to join our dedicated team at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. You will need to have a strong leadership and will be able to lead a team consisting of supervisors, technicians, electricians, assistants and apprentices. You will have knowledge and experience in Electrical Engineering Field such as installation, repair and maintenance of low voltage various equipment and issuing of Permit to Work to in-house trade person and contractors. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities Manage Electrical Team and ensure they undertake all Statutory and Mandatory PPM and Reactive Maintenance Monitor and maintain KPI's within target limit Manage contractors Provide support to the other band 6 managers within the Estates maintenance team Provide technical support to team Core working hours 0730-1530 Monday - Friday and you will participate in an on-call roster currently 1 day in 11 Weekday on-call requires site attendance 1400-2200hrs and 2200-0730hrs on-call from home Weekend on-call requires site attendance 0730-1530hrs (paid as overtime at 1.5 or lieu) and 1530-0730hrs on-call from home Person specification Qualifications / Training Required Essential criteria HNC/Degree or equivalent examined qualification in an Electrical Engineering or related field IOSH managing safely qualification must have or acquire within 6-months of taking up post Experience in CAD Packages Knowledge of Building Regs and understanding of statutory and legal processes in respect to site developments or acquire training within agreed period of time Desirable criteria NEEBOSH General Certificate Extensive experience of HV/LV installations (supply and distribution) Membership of a recognised professional organisation is encouraged Previous or relevant experience necessary Essential criteria Considerable previous Industry related experience of electrical maintenance works Knowledge of asbestos regulations and Approved Codes of Practice etc. Experience of managing directly employed labour and contractors in the delivery of (a) a reactive maintenance provision, (b) a planned maintenance provision, or (c) a combined service provision Knowledge of HBN/HTM, asbestos regulations and Approved Codes of Practice etc Desirable criteria Project Management experience Understanding of mechanical supply and distribution systems within a large site/building Aptitudes And Skills Required Essential criteria Carry out technical evaluations/investigations, analyse information and make appropriate judgements Translate raw data/information into concise reports with prioritised recommendations to avoid conflict of interests.
