We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Worker to join our team and help make a positive impact on the well-being of our pupils. You will play a key role in supporting the social, emotional, and mental health needs of children, ensuring that all students feel safe, happy, and ready to learn. Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-to-one and group support for children experiencing emotional, social, or behavioural challenges. - Offer a safe and confidential space for children to discuss their worries or concerns. - Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement tailored support plans. - Assist with monitoring and tracking pupil progress in relation to pastoral care. - Help children develop key life skills, including communication, resilience, and emotional regulation. - Promote positive behaviour and support the school's ethos of kindness, respect, and inclusion. - Organise and run interventions to support emotional well-being, such as mindfulness or social skills groups. Key Requirements: - Experience working with children in a school setting, particularly supporting emotional or pastoral needs. - A strong understanding of child development and the challenges children may face in their personal lives. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. - A calm, empathetic, and patient approach when working with children. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive attitude. - A relevant qualification in child development, education, or social care would be an advantage. - Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
