About the service
Set on the outskirts of Glenrothes, the Finglassie Service covers two 4 bed purpose-built semi-detached bungalows. Each bungalow comprises of a large kitchen and lounge area which is used for meal times, activities and entertaining. Each person we support has their own room with adapted bathroom.
There are 8 individuals who each have their own unique needs including, but not limited to, impaired vision, hearing impairment, learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, epilepsy and congenital rubella syndrome.
Given the complexity of needs, each person’s support package is bespoke to them. Our onsite team provide 24/7 support in every element of their lives, with a focus on person-centred care which allows the individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations.
The Finglassie service is a hive of activity. There is a range of activities the people supported all like to participate in. The warm pool at Fife Leisure Centre in Glenrothes is a firm favourite and with block bookings it’s always on the weekly activity list. Karaoke and disco afternoons are another fun activity which also presents the chance to catch up with friends and enjoy some food and music. Each person we support has their own car enabling staff to support them with shopping, meals out, concerts, shows at local theatres as well as drives to the park, popping to the car wash or just to fill up the tank! While being out in the community is something we like to encourage, there is also lots to do indoors such as arts and crafts, storytelling, foot spas and pamper sessions, and the ever-popular games nights.
