Senior Clinical Psychologist
Permanent Part time role covering 21 hours per week.
Location: Wales
Salary: up to £60,000 per annum pro rata.
Our well established client is looking for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join their team on a permanent basis.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Provide specialist psychological assessment and neuropsychological assessment of adults with acquired brain injury referred to BIRT and related services, utilising and interpreting information from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users, family members and others involved in the service user’s care.
* Complete pre-admission assessments, highly developing specialist, collaborative and holistic neurobehavioural formulations of an individual’s rehabilitation needs.
* Formulate and implement plans of highly specialist psychological and/or neuropsychological intervention to support the neurobehavioural rehabilitation of adults with acquired brain injury as part of the multi/interdisciplinary team, based on current evidence-based best practice.
* Be responsible for providing a specialist psychological perspective in the multi/interdisciplinary assessment of service users and their families.
* Undertake psychologically based risk assessment and risk management for relevant clients and provide advice on the psychological aspects of risk to the multi/interdisciplinary team.
* Exercise autonomous professional judgement and responsibility for the psychological management of service users on own caseload.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Psychology accepted by BPS for Graduate Basis Registration (GBR) or equivalent.
* Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (BPS accredited) or its equivalent to meet requirements to register as a practitioner psychologist with the HCPC.
* Registered with the HCPC.
* Demonstrate an interest in clinical neuropsychology.
* General knowledge of acquired brain injury pathology, neuroanatomy, symptoms, characteristics, course of recovery and rehabilitation approaches. This includes but is not limited to traumatic brain injury, cerebrovascular disease and understanding the different types of strokes, encephalopathy, hypoxic brain injury, amongst others.
* At least 2 years experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist in a relevant clinical area.
