We are recruiting a Crane Installation Supervisor to join our team.
Ideally, you'll be based in the north of the UK, such as Glasgow/Manchester/Newcastle, but other northern or Midlands locations will be considered.
Due to the nature of the role, overnight stays will be required, more often than not these will be Monday-Friday.
As the Northern installation supervisor, you will work with a team of installers and planners throughout the Konecranes business, both internal and external, to ensure we deliver our projects on time, first time, on budget to the highest safety and engineering standards, enhancing the customer experience in line with our customer promise.
Working with and as part of the installation team, you'll ensure that they have the knowledge and experience to install and commission all CTO and ETO products in line with our Business Plan. Search for efficiencies in the operations processes to enable us to reduce process times without impacting quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake site visits to ensure installation methods are achievable at the tender stage to deliver on the installation budgets allocated to the respective jobs.
* Compile lift plans and all necessary supporting documentation of good quality and submit these to the respective clients with full confidence in explaining the methodology of the install plans.
* Source labour, plant, and materials to undertake these installs.
* Lead the install with the selected team, aiming to install, commission, and provide necessary completion documents following the crane handover.
* Maintain SSoW and Risk Assessments throughout the work.
* Support the sales team in offerings on installs.
* Maximise the productivity of the direct installation resource.
* Support the Installation Planners to coordinate the day-to-day activities, managing delays and resolving issues while keeping the customer up to date.
* Focus the team on the customer’s experience to secure repeat business and leave every customer with a positive impression of Konecranes.
* Work with your team and colleagues to continuously improve our processes and practices.
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications (Preferable but not essential as training will be provided for any lifting qualifications required)
* NVQ or equivalent in Supervisory/Management discipline
* Site-based qualification (SMSTS, IOSH, NEBOSH)
* Mechanical / Electrical qualification
* Appointed Persons Qualification with proven experience
* Lifting Supervisor CPCS
* Slinger Signaller CPCS
Skills and Experience (Preferable)
* Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise workloads
* Experience of construction-based projects
* Experience of managing a remote field-based team
* Understanding and awareness of Lifting Directives, Machinery Directive, and Building Standards
Additional Skills
* Must be able to interpret architect, engineers, and OEM drawings
* Good IT skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, AutoCAD
* Problem-solving techniques
