This role is a permanent full-time position offering 22 hours per week, however, requests to work condensed hours or job-share will be considered, taking into account business needs and this will be reviewed annually.

DPHC is a vibrant and fast-paced organisation which aims to provide the absolute best primary healthcare to members of the Armed Forces and other entitled personnel.
You will primarily provide dental treatment, oral hygiene instruction and education, administration, enhancing force generation and operational capability and minimising dental morbidity on operations. While also providing, if requested, clinical and administrative support for the provision of dental care in other local DPHC sites or health fairs.
Job responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Undertaking Continuous Professional Development in the core subjects of medical emergencies, Infection Prevention Control (IPC), disinfection and decontamination, radiography and radiation protection, legal and ethical issues, and handling complaints, as recommended by the General Dental Council.
* Providing treatment in line with the scope of practice for dental hygienists as outlined in General Dental Council publication Scope of Practice.
* Supporting the Senior Dental Officer and Practice manager with administrative functions, as needed.
* Deliver elements of a dental treatment plan on prescription from a registered dentist in line with professional body guidance.
* Being familiar with the content of the Dental Emergency Resuscitation Kit (DERK), how to access it, how to use the components and be capable of carrying out Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) if necessary.
* Be prepared to travel to and work from other centres, if required.

Essential
* Registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).
* Candidates who hold the qualifications but are not yet registered with the GDC are eligible to apply for this vacancy.
Experience
Desirable
* A Full United Kingdom driving licence to enable working from another local military dental centres, if required.
* Confidence in using Information Technology.
Qualifications
Essential
* Knowledge of range of oral health procedures; acquired through training to degree level or to diploma level plus experience to degree equivalent level.
