Planned Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £41,320
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Shifts: Sun-Wed 06:00-16:00
Location: Cotes Park Industrial Estate, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 4PA
Position Summary
As a Planned Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the site maintenance strategy, developing and maintaining production processors and participating in improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drive operational performance of Safety, Quality, Speed, Cost and People KPIs.
2. Partner with the Production Shift Lead to coordinate reactive/planned maintenance activities.
3. Play an active role in the delivery of departmental performance targets such as OEE, right first time (RFT), waste and yield.
4. Complete basic equipment condition monitoring, preventative maintenance duties and engineering repairs.
5. Complete Function Tests on the site safety equipment (Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, High Level Alarm, etc.).
6. Complete daily checks on the site utilities, Plant equipment and support the completion of site compliance inspections.
7. Make effective repairs to machinery using established methodology.
8. Utilise, develop and improve the AM and PM systems.
9. Ensure machinery runs effectively and efficiently.
10. Comply with site safety systems.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
1. Mechanical Engineering qualification, or experience, with an understanding of Electrical Engineering (Essential).
2. Knowledge of Production Machinery (Essential), ideally within: Packaging, Food, FMCG, etc.
3. Creative approach to solving problems and being committed to raising and following those creative solutions to relevant stakeholders, departments or colleagues involved.
4. Working knowledge of maintenance techniques associated with autonomous, preventative and predictive maintenance, and an understanding of working within a lower-tier COMAH site.
5. Good understanding of general manufacturing Utilities Plant Equipment (Steam Boilers, Compressed Air Plant, Water Treatment Plant, etc.) (Desirable).
