The Role
We are seeking a parenting co-ordinator to join our Parenting Team. The Parenting team are responsible for running North Somerset Council’s Evidence Based Advanced Parenting Groups, supporting families with children from birth -19 years (25 SEND)
In this role, you will be assisting the senior coordinator and team lead to manage delivery of groups and coordination of the group waitlist. Alongside administrative tasks pertaining to managing referrals. You will be supporting the team with the delivery of evidence-based parenting groups therefore experience of working in this field is essential.
The successful candidate will link with our multi-agency partners to make sure we are connected to all those working within early help and wider teams within children’s services including education, health and the private and voluntary sectors.
We are looking for an organised and passionate applicant who understands the importance of supporting parents at times when life can feel its most challenging. Therefore, an understanding of child development, trauma informed practice and strengths-based ways of working is required. Experience of delivering evidence-based parenting programmes is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
Administrative tasks such as managing waitlists, booking venues etc.
Supporting the running of our parenting Villages
Training in and leading parenting groups
Data management and reporting
Working in partnership with professionals, parent’s carers and their families to provide advice and guidance around evidence-based parenting strategies and interventions.
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
This position is currently based at our Children’s Centres in Weston-super-Mare
Essential Criteria:
Qualified at level 3 or above
Have extensive experience working in a whole family way with children’s young people and families.
Have strong organisational and planning skills
Be confident in the delivery of evidence-based parenting groups.
Desirable Criteria:
Have a curious approach to working with families that is restorative & trauma informed
Experience of excel spreadsheets
CYPIAPT or similar qualification
Experience of Routine Outcome Measures - use and interpretation
