Job Overview:
A reputable and welcoming primary school located in the scenic area of Axminster, Devon, is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role will primarily involve working with students within the EYFS and KS1 stages, offering support and enriching the learning experience for young pupils in this crucial phase of their education.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the delivery of educational activities and planned lessons under the direction of the class teacher.
2. Work closely with the classroom teacher to create a positive and stimulating learning environment.
3. Support individual pupils and small groups to help them meet the learning objectives.
4. Contribute to the management of pupil behavior, promoting the school's values and ethos.
5. Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
6. Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to the classroom teacher.
7. Participate in relevant meetings and professional development activities.
8. Help to foster independence and self-confidence in pupils.
9. Remain vigilant to the health and safety of children, observing and managing risks effectively.
10. Provide feedback to parents and guardians about the child's day and progress when appropriate.
11. Carry out additional duties as assigned that are consistent with the role of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant.
Qualifications:
1. A recognized Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
2. Previous experience working with children in a similar educational setting, particularly within EYFS or KS1.
3. A strong understanding of the educational and emotional needs of young children.
4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, pupils, and parents.
5. An up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
6. A team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to fostering a nurturing learning environment.
