Are you interested in a career in women's health?
Gynaecology Outpatients Department (LILY) is a small friendly unit, where women attend clinic for reviews as well as minor procedures. This post would suit someone with an interest in working in the caring profession but specialising in women’s health. The Unit currently works Monday-Friday 0800-1800 and the successful applicant would be expected to work their hours across the month to support the service.
You must be highly organised, an excellent communicator and have a passion to deliver high standards of patient care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who is an excellent organiser, great communicator, sensitive, non-judgemental and able to promote a welcoming approach to patients, relatives and visitors, who can work using their own initiative, often under pressure. Works well alone, but importantly as part of a wide team of multi-professionals, from Admin staff, to nurses, sonographers, doctors - the list is endless). You will also:
* set up and close down clinic rooms
* support patients through their clinic journey
* act as patient advocate
* maintain patient's privacy and dignity
* alert the Registered Practitioner to any change or concern relating to the welfare of a patient

Education and Qualifications
* Qualification in English and Maths
* NVQ in Health care or willing to undertake/achieve equivalent competence
Experience
* Previous care work on hospital, community, voluntary or work experience
* Previous experience of working as part of a team
* Previous experience of working with the public
* Previous experience in a caring role or hospital environment
* Previous administration experience and keyboard skills
Knowledge
* Understanding of health and safety at work
* Able to produce clear written records
* Knowledge of vulnerable adult and child protection issues
* Knowledge of women’s health and women’s outpatient procedures
Other
* Good interpersonal skills with ability to use tact and diplomacy
