Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-Time
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join our team in the heart of Chorley, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will be proactive, supportive, and enthusiastic about contributing to the educational and social development of children.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities.
2. Provide support to students individually or in small groups to help them understand and complete assignments.
3. Monitor students’ progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher for assessments.
4. Help manage classroom behaviour by enforcing rules and applying disciplinary measures when necessary.
5. Prepare instructional materials, equipment, and the classroom setting, ensuring a safe and tidy environment conducive to learning.
6. Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students, including those with special needs or learning difficulties.
7. Supervise students outside of classroom times, such as during lunch breaks, assemblies, and field trips.
8. Perform administrative duties such as maintaining student records, grading papers, and taking attendance.
9. Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents when necessary.
10. Engage in continuous professional development to improve personal teaching skills and strategies.
Requirements:
1. NVQ Level 2 or 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
2. Previous experience working within a school environment or relevant experience with children.
3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
4. Ability to build good relationships with children, teachers, and parents.
5. A patient and resourceful approach with the capacity to motivate and inspire students.
6. Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
7. A firm understanding and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
