Job Summary: We are looking for a Bakery Chef, who will be responsible for operating the Bakery section of the business. A Bakery Chef will also be required to plan production and develop seasonal offerings.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for creating high-quality cakes, cookies, pies, donuts, croissants, and other related confectionery items with high presentations to maintain quality standards and consistency of product.
2. Manages all day-to-day operations of the cake and bakery section of the kitchen.
3. Prepare a wide variety of goods such as biscuits, cakes, cookies, pies, bread, etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
4. Able to produce all baked goods including but not limited to artisan bread and rolls, muffins, laminated Danish, laminated croissants, and doughnuts.
5. Able to develop, design, or create new ideas and items for the cake kitchen.
6. Create new and exciting recipes to renew company menus and engage the interest of customers.
7. Ensure excellent quality throughout the cake offerings.
8. Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
9. Decorate cakes and desserts using different types of icings, toppings, etc., and ensure the food presentation is beautiful and exciting.
10. Coordinates activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
11. Supervise and coordinate all cake and dessert preparation and presentation.
12. Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, etc., and make appropriate orders within budget.
13. Check the quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
14. Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to the supervisor immediately.
15. Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively.
16. Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
17. Operates and maintains all department equipment and reports malfunctions.
18. Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
19. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
20. Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviours.
21. Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
22. Ensuring culinary standards and responsibilities are met for production team.
Prerequisites:
1. Must have over 4 years of experience in Pakistani style bakery products.
2. Good knowledge of different types of bread, pastry, dessert, and cake decorations.
3. Possess professional disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, days, afternoons, and evenings.
5. Positive attitude and good communication skills.
Education: Preferably high school diploma along with major qualifications in baking.
Salary: £35k/Annum
