Job Description
AJ Group are currently working with a leading construction business to appoint a Commercial Manager to oversee a £60 M Advanced Construction project in the South West.
Responsible for:
1. Contract procurement and risk management, ensuring risks profiling has been carried out for each project.
2. Maximizing cash management and profitability of the business unit, providing cash flows for each project, updated weekly and copied to the Commercial Director and Finance Director.
3. Protecting financial and contractual position, ensuring that all terms, conditions and obligations meet the requirements of the policies and procedures of the client.
4. Ensuring financial close on each project in a timely fashion.
5. Managing dispute resolution.
6. Implementation of strategic commercial plans to meet changes in circumstances in the project, post commencement.
7. Working with the Project Delivery Teams in ensuring compliance with contractual timescales on delays and claims notices and the proper maintenance of all records required to substantiate contractual position.
8. Ensuring that effective commercial management is provided throughout the department including training and coaching as necessary.
9. Developing relationships with clients/supply chain/professional team.
10. Training, mentoring and development of business unit commercial resources and site teams.
Qualifications and experience:
1. High level of ability and advanced knowledge of subcontract/material orders and procurement.
2. Knowledge and understanding of claims and dispute resolution.
3. Knowledge of health and safety, quality procedures and construction industry.
