The main purpose of the role is to support children with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment, which may include supporting with care needs and positive behaviour management. Key Duties: To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe and enable them to enjoy and learn. To promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils, maintaining high expectations of behaviour. To contribute to high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities to help pupils achieve their full potential. Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day-to-day running of the class. Adapt to the varying and changing needs of the school for its smooth running. Promote pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, physical development and spiritual well-being. Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team. Under guidance, ensure documentation is completed correctly for incidents, health, behavior, etc. Duties may vary, requiring flexibility and collaboration wherever needed. Skills and Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification is essential. Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures. Knowledge or experience with pupils with SEN. Commitment to the role and desire to treat each child as an individual. Creativity in meeting pupils’ needs. L3 award in supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent (desirable). Previous experience as a L2 qualified or equivalent TA (desirable).
