Job Summary
Applications are invited for the post of a Locum Clinical Oncology Consultant in Head and Neck Cancer (8PA's) to commence ASAP for 6 months.
This is a new post with the successful candidate joining the Cancer Directorate at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic colleague to join the established Head and Neck Clinical Oncology Department.
Main Duties of the Job
It is expected that the prospective candidate will have significant head and neck cancer experience with a particular emphasis on the management of salivary gland tumours, trial development, and recruitment.
We would expect applicants to:
1. Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of head and neck cancers
2. Share with colleagues the responsibility for day-to-day management of the clinical service
3. Participate in complex radiotherapy planning and treatment techniques
4. Deliver systemic therapy
5. Recruit to and actively participate in clinical trials
6. Play an active role in the design of original clinical trials and studies
7. Supervise undergraduates, junior doctors, and other staff
8. Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, ward rounds, and on-call commitments
Minimum Requirements
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have CCT or be within six months of the award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013).
