Temporary Business Services Assistant/ Admin - Resources & Waste

Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour PAYE
37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 43 months
City: MATLOCK
There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work from County Hall, Matlock, a minimum of 2 days per week
The County Council manages a number of Household Waste Recycling Centres across the County which have recently introduced a number of changes. You will support the Resources and Waste Team with queries from members of the public and communicate with contractors.
Good communications skills, initiative and judgement are required along with significant experience liaising with internal/external bodies and organisations and working as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Process information and provide administrative support to the Resources and Waste Management department during the changes at the Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs):
Charging for the Tyres/Asbestos
Changes to the HWRC opening times
Trade Waste introduction at two recycling centres
Residents Permits for the HWRCs
Support members of the public with the registration of vehicles for both the trade and residents permit schemes and assist with the input of information through the Councils Confirm system.
Answer the Resources and Waste phone line, and support members of the public with queries in relation to the changes at HWRCs or recycling queries.
Assist with maintenance and development of databases and spreadsheets to manage information relevant to Resources and Waste activities.
Ensuring records are identifiable, retrievable and are held in accordance with DCC and departmental procedures.
Build and sustain relationships with contractors, internal colleagues and service users to resolve issues and to ensure the needs of the service and service users are met.
Provide general administrative support to the section, whilst contributing to achieving departmental and team objectives.
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 in Business Admin or equivalent experience
Knowledge:
Knowledge of administrative practices & processes
Experience:
In administrative systems and practises
Working in a customer focussed environment
Skills & Abilities:
Good organising skills.
Excellent ICT skills including standard software packages and bespoke databases
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work flexibly across teams or functions
Good written and oral communication and customer focus
