1:1 Teaching Assistant TA2 (TA3 once trained in Braille) Starting at £17,655 per year 30 hours per week We are seeking to appoint a committed, experienced and highly motivated Teaching Assistant with excellent interpersonal skills. This is an exciting opportunity to join our school supporting a vision impaired child in class in a mainstream setting, as a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant. The successful applicant will work 30hours, term time only. The successful applicant will be required to undertake the duties of a Teaching Assistant, supporting a child with a vision impairment within the mainstream school. They will work with teachers to support the learning, educational progress and inclusion of the pupil, with the aim of narrowing any attainment gap they have with their peers. The Teaching Assistant will give assistance to the pupil so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning, experience a sense of achievement and develop independence in learning and all other aspects of school life. They will modify and prepare resources for classroom use. Previous experience working with children is essential, preferably in a school environment. A commitment to equal opportunities, flexibility and strong IT skills are also essential. A Braille qualification and experience is desirable, though would be essential to fulfil the requirements of the Grade 3 post. Training would be provided to the successful applicant.
