This Post Provides An Excellent Opportunity To Support The PSCC Team In Leading The Directorate’s Quality And Safety Agenda As Such, The Post Holder Will Be Expected To:
* Provide an immediate response to untoward events, to ensure robust clinical incident reporting mechanisms are in place throughout the directorate.
* Support the safe delivery of operational services within the Directorate.
* Work with the Operational Director and Associate Director of Nursing in the planning, organising and delivery of the Directorate's quality objectives.
* Liaise with Consultants, Directors, Senior Managers, Matrons and nursing teams on service quality and governance; analyse and interpret national quality standards, performance data, local and national statistics providing analytical feedback to Directorate performance and quality reviews and future planning.
* Support the monitoring of Directorate targets/health care standards raising awareness to potential problems and taking positive action where necessary.
* Maintain robust management of the Directorate's complaints and incident reporting and response processes.
* Provide high visibility of the Directorates quality performance measures and any risks to safe delivery of patient care.
* Providing assurance of ongoing learning.
The post holder will support the Senior Team to:
* Ensure that all Health and Safety EEC Directives and COSHH Policies operate satisfactorily throughout the Directorate.
* Assist in the prompt investigation of complaints in line with the Trust's Complaints Procedure, maintaining a record of complaints and ensuring that all teams complete complaint actions and use them positively to improve service deficiencies.
* Assist in ensuring robust complaints investigation and clinical incidents reporting mechanisms are in place and effective throughout the Directorate.
* Provide the Quality & Governance Group with a monthly quality report that describes any trends in quality performance, summarises any risks and maintains effective and robust assurance to the Directorate that any governance or safety issues are being managed effectively in the Directorate.
* Assist in ensuring strategies are in place to minimise the risks whilst understanding the litigious nature of those risk.
