With a team of 300 colleagues, a £50m turnover, and over 3,000 customer sites, our solutions make a measurable impact The Business Development Executive (BDE) is a key player in driving DeterTech's growth by supporting Business Development Managers (BDMs) and assisting in all stages of the sales process. This role focuses on creating, delivering, and following up on Regional Account quotations, generating leads, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring smooth coordination between sales teams. By effectively collaborating with both desk-based and field-based sales teams, the BDE will optimize sales efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and contribute to the company's growth. Key Responsibilities Customer Engagement & Sales Support Build and cultivate strong relationships with prospects to convert them into long-term customers. Manage and update the CRM system (Salesforce) to ensure accurate tracking of leads and opportunities. Handle inbound customer inquiries, directing them to the appropriate BDM or closing simple, transactional sales directly. Provide timely sales reports to the Sales Manager, detailing progress against targets (daily, weekly, and monthly). Proposal Development & Follow-Up Prepare detailed and tailored proposals for Regional Accounts that meet customer needs.Ensure all proposals meet industry standards and security accreditation requirements, including input from BDMs on site assessments. Follow up on issued proposals, utilizing effective closing techniques to convert opportunities into sales. Identify areas for proposal refinement to enhance the chances of securing orders. Sales Process Support Assist BDMs by creating and submitting proposals, as well as making necessary revisions in response to customer feedback. Collaborate with BDMs to develop new opportunities and drive them through the sales pipeline. Schedule and coordinate client meetings for BDMs, ensuring maximum efficiency of their time. Support ongoing client communication to ensure a seamless experience from initial contact through to deal closure. Maintain detailed records of all interactions in Salesforce to ensure data accuracy and timely follow-up. Coordinate the installation process for signed contracts, working closely with the operations team. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Experience: At least 2 years of experience in customer service, sales, or a similar role. Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with clients. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently or within a team. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & PowerPoint). Personal Attributes: Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
