We are currently recruiting for two Team Leaders / Senior Care Assistants on night duty. You MUST have previous experience in this role and preferably be level 3 / CHAPS or equivalent qualified.
WE CANNOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP AT THIS TIME AND WE CANNOT OFFER 20 HR A WEEK STUDENT CONTRACTS FOR THIS POST.
The shift pattern available is MON TUES SAT SUN WEEK 1 AND WEDS THURS FRI WEEK 2. SHIFTS ARE 07.00 - 19.30 WITH A ONE HOUR UNPAID BREAK PER SHIFT.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Provide leadership and support for care staff as well as day-to-day supervision, working in conjunction with the Household Manager to ensure all aspects of staff management are conducted in a timely, proportionate, and compassionate manner, ensuring that standards are of the highest level.
* Conduct induction training, shadowing, and competency sign-off for new starters.
* Ensure that our residents' care, welfare, and safety are of the highest standards and in compliance with statutory regulations.
* Be responsible for effective shift handovers, the development and updating of care plans, conducting risk assessments, and home audits as required.
* Administer medication in line with the Care Homes medication policy and assist in keeping accurate records.
* Assist residents in all aspects of their personal care, provide support at meal times, and assist with personal hygiene, ensuring all residents retain their dignity in comfort and respect.
* Work collaboratively with the Wellbeing and Activities team, Housekeeping team, and Catering teams.
* Deliver dignified care for residents who are at the end of their lives.
* Ensure the effective and efficient management of medical consumables and supplies.
* Support the Senior Management Team in delivering the CQC requirements of a safe, caring, responsive, effective, and well-led service.
What are we looking for:
* Shift times 19:00 - 07:30.
* You must have significant experience in adult social care.
* You will preferably have a Level 3 qualification in health and social care or be nearing completion of it or have completed a recognised CHAPs course or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level qualification.
* Previous experience leading a care team and working in health and/or social care, particularly with those with either dementia or general nursing needs.
* Ability to motivate the care team to ensure that residents receive the highest standard of care whilst under pressure.
* Competent in IT skills with a keen willingness to learn new software.
* Verbal and written communication skills of a high standard.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, with high levels of organisation and teamwork skills.
* Effective time management skills and ability to work independently following verbal or written instructions.
* Flexibility and adaptability to change.
* You must have kindness in bucketloads, empathy and sensitivity, and of course a sense of humour!
