Total Care Pharmacy located in Norwich, are excited to offer an opportunity for a pre-registration t rainee pharmacy technician, (PTPT) on a 24 month fixed term contract. This structured, two-year training programme is designed for individuals passionate about healthcare and eager to develop the skills and qualifications needed to become a GPhC registered pharmacy technician. As a PTPT, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced community pharmacy environment. This role includes a minimum of 30 hours a week, including 24 hours of work and 6 hours of paid study time per week to support your learning and development. Candidates must be fully committed to the two-year course duration and have a reliable commute plan to maintain consistent attendance throughout the programme. Key responsibilities include: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and advising on over-the-counter (OTC) products and services. S upport the reception and administration teams, at our member practices, with complex medication queries. Support the GP partners on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions. Efficiently take in and hand out prescriptions, addressing inquiries with professionalism and accuracy. Support daily pharmacy operations, including stock management, ordering, unpacking, restocking, and maintaining a clean, organized shop floor. Promote and provide pharmacy services and OTC products with confidence. Offer guidance on medication use and side effects under supervision. Develop our prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective and efficient prescribing within the PCN. Use pharmacy systems effectively for record-keeping and operational tasks. Operate the till, handle transactions, and perform end-of-day cashing up. Build professional relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues to foster a collaborative work environment.
