As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Our teaching assistant apprenticeship programme will teach many different skills. You will be based in a classroom environment with young learners. As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to support classroom activities, assist in lesson planning, and provide individualised attention to students. This role provides valuable hands-on experience and training to raise the standards of achievement for all pupils.
The role of a teaching assistant is to provide support for pupils, teachers, and other staff in order to:
* Encourage pupils to become more independent learners
* Provide support for their emotional, social, and physical welfare
* Support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life
* Work under the direction of the line manager, class teachers, and other staff to support the learning of whole classes, selected groups or individuals as instructed
* Study relevant qualifications while you earn
* Supervising class activities
* Assisting with young people’s learning experience
* Helping students who might need extra support
* Attending relevant academy meetings as required
* Respecting confidentiality at all times
* Participating in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for the identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager
* Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with academy policies and help keep pupils on task
* Interact with, and support pupils, according to individual needs and skills
* To support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher
* Demonstrate a positive commitment to equality and diversity

Your training plan
Apprenticeship Details – 16 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:

Other requirements
Once successful we will need to submit off a DBS to make sure we are good to go! This can take a few weeks to come back so please be sure that the start date may change to later. This is all depending on how fast the DBS clears. This is something out of our control with timing.
