The role The Lead Technician is an essential member of the Direct Repairs department, who leads a dedicated team of multi trade operatives, by providing a comprehensive, efficient and responsive property service delivery. The primary focus is providing a high-quality responsive maintenance service to all residents, internal colleagues and partners. To also provide clear structure and support to operatives in managing repairs effectively from inception to completion and final quality assurance. Your main base will be Bow, with regular travel required across East London and Essex. A company van will be provided for work purposes. Duties include: Day-to-day line management of a team of operatives, covering a multitude of trades. Management of all associated workstreams, productivity, and value for money. Monitoring, Training, and Promotion of safe working practices. Fleet, Equipment, and Materials management ( stock control, maintenance, and safety ). Resident liaison, including stage 1 complaint handling and escalation when required. What you'll have Ideally, you'll have worked for a Housing Association, House Builder, Local Authority or Construction contractor in a similar role as a Site Supervisor, Site Manager or Foreperson. Excellent leadership skills to create a culture adopting our values, to inspire, motivate and develop staff at all levels; building cohesive and motivated teams who are committed to our vision and goals. You'll have a blended management style, supporting our operatives & residents, promoting self-awareness and a genuine commitment to improve services. You'll be able to make sound judgements, find solutions to complex issues and problems, and identify and manage risk. The role will work with a range of residents and colleagues, so a positive approach to collaborative team working is essential. You must hold a full UK driving licence with no more than six points and with no serious motoring offences in the last 10 years (i.e., CD, DD, DG, DR, IN, MR, TT). You must also have a minimum of two years driving experience. We will undertake driving licence checks on the successful candidate as part of our standard pre-employment checks process.
