WelderLocation: Witney, OxfordSalary: £30,000 - £35,000 + overtimeOvertime: AvailableReporting to: Factory Supervisor/Production ManagerResponsibilities:As a Welder, you will play a pivotal role in the production process. Your key responsibilities include:Safety and Equipment:Ensuring PPE is up to standard and worn at all times.Conducting helmet filter and equipment checks before starting a job.Adhering to and understanding Risk Assessments to ensure all activities are carried out safely.Supervision and Training:Overseeing and supporting the work of welding colleagues.Providing training and guidance to team members as needed.Technical Work:Reading engineering drawings and work instructions.Tacking, fabricating, and welding components to the company’s specified standards.Setting up and running the Auto-Welder based on workflow requirements.Optimization and Quality:Analyzing optimal settings and flow rates for specific production jobs in collaboration with the Production Manager.Recording and reporting quality issues/returns using data sheets.Ensuring all work meets high-quality standards and observing best practices at all times.Collaboration and Problem-Solving:Liaising with other departments to meet production targets.Efficiently communicating problems or queries to the Works Supervisor/Manager to avoid production delays.Efficiency and Continuous Improvement:Fine-tuning processes to enhance work quality and increase efficiency.Periodically reviewing Standard Work Instructions, Operational Procedures, and Risk Assessments to keep them up to date.Housekeeping:Maintaining a clean and tidy working area.Additional Duties:Undertaking any other duties as required.Criteria Required:Welding certification: BSENISO9606-1:2013 or equivalent.Flexible and positive approach to work.Working Hours:Standard Hours:Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMFriday: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PMOvertime:Available, including Saturday mornings when required.Rate of Pay:£30,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience).This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, with opportunities to contribute significantly to production processes and quality improvements.
