Venator is recruiting for a Country Accountant on a 12 months fixed term contract, to join the Accounting Shared Service Team at Wynyard.
Reporting to the Country Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of financial and compliance-based accounting services to our internal customers, whilst always seeking to minimize the cost of the service provision and add value to the business through sound tax and VAT management.
This role sits within the Anglo (UK, US, Canada, South Africa) and Spanish team within the Accounting shared services department.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Deliver defined, high quality financial accounting services to agreed performance and cost targets, on behalf of all the relevant businesses and sites in an environment that encourages continuous improvement to the underlying global processes.
2. Ensure internal and external reporting deadlines are achieved.
3. Ensure local and US GAAP compliance requirements meet the regulatory standards.
4. Involvement with external audits for the relevant legal entities for both US and local GAAP.
5. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls, involvement in annual internal audit ensuring all internal controls are adhered to and relevant documentation is maintained.
6. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including the relevant site accountants and external fiscal authorities (Tax / VAT) to streamline overall business processes.
7. Support the drive towards and implementation of global accounting processes within the ASSC to improve service, compliance, and financial performance.
8. Participate and contribute to key continuous improvement projects within the ASSC.
9. Provide day-to-day leadership to the Assistant Country Accountant(s) to ensure high levels of customer service and compliance are achieved.
10. All duties are to be carried out in compliance with Venator Corporate EHS, SOX and business conduct policies and guidelines.
Candidate Requirements:
1. University degree (preferred).
2. Professionally qualified accountant e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA.
3. At least 3 years post professional qualification experience in a process or manufacturing industry, with a strong technical accounting/compliance background, with exposure to multiple GAAP compliance e.g., IFRS, US GAAP, local GAAP (preferred).
4. Strong IT skills and proven ERP experience (SAP preferred).
5. Excel knowledge: intermediate level (essential).
