South Staffordshire College are recruiting for an experienced HR Officer.
The role requires someone with an employee relations background who has experience of operating in a multi-faceted fast paced environment. You will need to provide reliable, professional advice and guidance to managers and staff around our HR policies and procedures and will be managing an area where you are responsible for all aspects of recruitment, disciplinary/capability, grievance, absence management, flexible working and implementing our family friendly policies.

You will need to be a team player but also able to work on your own initiative within HR parameters. You will need to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and able to prioritise cases. You will be assertive but respect and value our staff at all times. You will be experienced in coaching managers to make effective and timely decisions on performance management.
You will be fully qualified Level 5 CIPD and have recent experience of working in a professional HR office. You will be expected to take a pragmatic approach when supporting managers in all types of meetings and with staff when discussing and resolving issues. This role is not suitable for individuals whose only experience is in Shared Service Centres.
As the role is based in education, you will need to have a clear DBS Enhanced check. As we have 5 campuses, you will also need to have a driving licence and regular access to a vehicle.
