Location: Leeds, UK
Salary: Competitive, based on experience (£45,000 - £65,000)

Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor with a degree qualification and a background in civil engineering contracting to join our expanding commercial team. The successful candidate will manage costs on construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency and contributing to the successful delivery of diverse schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Measurement: Accurately assess and quantify materials and labour required for projects.
* Variations: Identify and value changes to project scope, ensuring appropriate adjustments to budgets and schedules.
* Contract Support: Provide expert advice on contractual matters to site teams, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
* Financial Management: Prepare interim and final accounts, manage claims submissions, and conduct internal cost/value reporting.
* Forecasting: Develop cost forecasts, budgets, and expected cash flow projections to support financial planning.
* Procurement: Source and procure subcontractors and materials, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring quality standards.
* Client Relations: Attend meetings and negotiate with clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
Key Skills:
* Numeracy: Strong mathematical skills for accurate cost estimation and financial analysis.
* IT Proficiency: Competence in relevant software for cost management and reporting.
* Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
* Teamwork: Collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
* Negotiation: Skill in negotiating contracts and resolving disputes effectively.
* Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy and quality in all tasks.
Project Scope:
Projects vary in value from £250,000 to £15 million and encompass a range of works, including drainage, road construction, bulk earthworks, and remediation. Acting as the main contractor for end-user clients and developers, the company ensures safe, timely, and well-resourced project completion.
Reporting Line:
The Quantity Surveyor will report directly to the Commercial Manager.
