Our client, a reputable Investment Management firm, is seeking a Finance Planning Analyst to join their team in Edinburgh on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will ensure the timely and accurate completion of reporting and accounting assignments.
Essential Skills/Experience:
1. Minimum 2:1 degree qualification or equivalent
2. Part or newly qualified in either ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW Job training programs
3. Financial services experience is desirable
4. Proficient in MS Excel, Excel formulae and experience with PowerBI is preferable
5. Numerical skills
6. Experience of Oracle and other accounting and reporting systems is desirable
Core Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of regulatory and other external data submissions for internal review and submission
2. Contribute to production of month and quarter end analysis of balances for inclusion within Board papers
3. Day to day operational activities including banking activities
4. Perform period close activities including but not restricted to journal posting
5. Running of regular reports for internal team use and provision of data for other departmental use
6. Monthly liquidity and capital reporting
7. Review system generated billing and payment batches for accuracy and raise and post correlating accounting journals for the General Ledger
8. Perform root cause analysis as a means of addressing and eliminating data integrity and quality issues over time
9. Respond to ad hoc queries and requests for information from external stakeholders including other departments within the business and the parent company
10. Assist with the production of quarterly climate reporting and provide support
