You’ll play a key role in managing a strong team, facilities, and resources, and will lead efforts to secure funding to help sustain and grow our impact. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll be able to make a real difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operations:
* Lead the development and implementation of the annual business plan and budget to support the organisation's goals and strategic priorities.
* Manage day-to-day operations, including overseeing staff, facilities, and resources to ensure smooth service delivery for clients and stakeholders.
* Provide leadership to a diverse team, ensuring clear communication and support for their professional growth.
* Oversee financial processes, reporting, and administration to ensure the organisation remains financially healthy and transparent.
* Develop and implement a funding strategy to maintain existing income streams and identify new opportunities for grants, sponsorships, and other funding sources.
Community Engagement & Communication:
* Lead the creation and execution of marketing and communications strategies to promote the organization’s services, programs, and events.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Māori, local community groups, Auckland Council, government agencies, and other sector partners.
Programs & Services Delivery:
* Support the planning, delivery, and ongoing evaluation of community programs to ensure they meet the needs of our community and reflect continuous improvement.
Health & Safety:
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe and supportive environment for all staff, volunteers, and community members.
Core Competencies & Skills:
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience in leadership or team management.
* Is committed to the kaupapa of the organization and can carry out work with integrity and professionalism.
* Is skilled at building and nurturing relationships with diverse groups, from community members to government agencies.
* Demonstrates strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
* Is comfortable with IT and digital tools for reporting, communication, and project management.
* Has financial management experience and understands budget oversight.
* Can adapt and lead in the face of changing priorities or challenges.
* Has a good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it applies to community work.
