Reference: 37e0a897 To provide support for a 14-year-old autistic male with an anxiety disorder and panic disorder with agoraphobia. Main Duties We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker for this young person to provide some support initially at home. The support worker will be required to slowly engage with the young person and offer very gradual encouragement for him to leave his room and in time the house and then long term to access the wider community. The young person experiences high levels of anxiety which impact his daily living always. It would be really helpful if the support worker was very familiar with technology, gaming and Anime (Japanese film and animation) so that they could build up some trust with topics that the young person is familiar with. It is hoped that the young person with support, will also start to develop some independent skills including travel, shopping, cooking and managing money. The young person has no language, physical or intellectual impairments. Hours 3 hours per week divided between Tuesday and Thursday. Rate of pay · £13.09 per hour. · Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata. · Out of pocket expenses will be met by the employer, e.g. mileage to and from home and activities; and cost of activities when agreed in advance with employer. · ILG PA Employee Assistance Programme – this will be purchased by your employer after you have completed 6 weeks of employment.
