The Community Forensic Teams have recently aligned as one team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Occupational Therapist to provide clinical leadership to occupational therapy delivery in the team. You will be a registered and experienced Occupational Therapist with forensic experience.
You will clinically lead and develop other professionals in the team whilst managing a caseload. The post holder will provide specialist consultation and advice to non-forensic services and support forensic inpatient services in determining safe discharge pathways for service users. The post holder will continue to develop relationships with stakeholders to enhance occupational opportunities in the community.
The post presents as an ideal opportunity for someone who holds a keen interest in leadership with a desire to champion a good quality service. We are looking for a practitioner who has a proven track record of innovation and dynamic practice.
The successful candidate will provide strong and effective leadership within the Teams working closely with the MDT to provide high quality clinical provision. You will promote the vision and values of Humber NHS Teaching Foundation Trust. The community services are a fast-developing area of provision within the Forensic Division. The successful candidate will be a confident leader with a commitment to supporting a positive team culture whilst keeping service users needs at the centre of service delivery.
Main duties of the job
o Assesses and treats own caseload of patients / clients, individually and / or in groups, as part of multi-disciplinary team, in a variety of settings.
o Leads in specialist area, contributes to development of specialist service and related policies, legislation to support evidence-based practice.
o Supervises / manages staff / students working in own specialist area.
o Provides specialist advice to social services, housing departments, clients, carers, other professionals on disability, housing, relevant legal and funding issues.
o Leads clinical audits, undertakes research specialist treatment and provides advanced practice.

Qualifications
* Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and/or further professional knowledge at masters equivalent level
* Registration with the HCPC
* Full understanding of relevant policy, drivers and their application to clinical and service area
Experience
* Advanced knowledge/experience of working in the relevant service area
* Experience of leadership
* Advanced knowledge and experience using specialist assessments relevant to the service area
* Evidence of specialist practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
