This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Project Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You'll drive the delivery of assigned small projects, jobs and tasks ensuring that the work is conducted in a safe, timely and effective manner in line with the relevant procedures.
Day-to-day, you'll support the Project Manager with day-to-day activities required to deliver work in line with the project plan including safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. Working with and supporting a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a common objective.
* Working with the Project Manager to define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.
* Prepare and maintain project documentation including Project Definition Document, Project Brief, Quality Plans, and other documents as required.
* Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contract or package. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues to the Project Manager
* Identifying, implementing and complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
* Review documentation including contractors documents and drawings.
* Collaborate with contractors and area owners across site to facilitate project delivery. Lead site meetings, walkdowns to review design proposals, capture design risks and changes.
This role is full time OR part time, 38 hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater
* Essential experience of the Project Engineer
* Experience in project delivery and knowledge of Project Management principles (APM)
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including Construction Design Management and Health and Safety at Work Act.
* Proficient in preparing reports and information using software packages such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Previous experience working in a construction environment

The successful candidate must able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
