We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Programme Management Team based in Coventry or Liverpool.
Main Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the successful delivery of a number of projects working across various MTC Technology Themes for major MTC clients.
2. Ensure customer needs are clearly captured, understood, and effectively built into project proposals.
3. Liaise with resource owners/team leaders to ensure effective use of resources in delivering project quality, cost & delivery within project scope.
4. Manage any changes to project scope via the recognised “Change Request” process.
5. Act as champion for BMS project management processes, tools & techniques.
6. Contribute to continuous improvement activities related to PM tools and processes.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate who is/has:
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience
1. Experience of working on government-funded collaborative research & development projects.
2. A clear leadership style directing others to achieve project success.
3. Articulate and able to effectively communicate at all levels of the business.
4. Clear and concise communication given in a timely manner to key stakeholders, ensuring they are briefed on any mission critical issues and remedial plans are fully agreed.
5. Numerate with a strong focus on financial management.
6. An organised yet flexible approach with the ability to influence/deliver through others.
7. Ability to identify resource requirements and negotiate availability with resource owners/team leaders.
8. Results driven self-starter with a positive CAN-DO approach focusing on solutions rather than problems.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience
1. Experience in a busy project based/professional services environment.
2. Experience of Microsoft project management tools including MS Project and Excel.
3. Association of Project Management (APM) qualification (or willingness to work towards achieving this accredited qualification).
