Job Summary: The Head of HR is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organisation. This includes recruitment, organisational development, performance management, employee relations, training and development, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
The role is critical in shaping company culture and compliance, ensuring a productive, engaged workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
* Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
* In depth knowledge of Employment Law
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, policies, procedures and legislation (including but not limited to legislation on the Equality Act, health & safety and data protection),
* Provide guidance to senior management on HR best practices and workforce planning.
* Foster a high-performance culture that encourages employee engagement and development.
* Commitment to be an aspiring role model who encourages collaboration.
Talent Acquisition & Management:
* Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
* Develop talent management programs to retain and develop.
* Experience in determining, measuring and analysing relevant KPIs for incentive schemes.
* Implement succession planning and leadership development programs.
Performance Management & Employee Development:
* Commercial acumen and experience in using metrics for driving performance
* Must possess comprehensive knowledge of, and experience in submitting sponsorship license applications to the Home Office, ensuring a successful outcome on the first attempt.
* Manage the performance appraisal systems to drive accountability and growth.
* The ability to analyse and review HR data to identify trends and acts accordingly.
* Develop training programs to enhance employee skills and leadership capabilities.
* Promote a learning culture within the organisation.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
* Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters.
* Drive employee engagement initiatives to enhance workplace satisfaction and productivity.
* The ability to lead, develop, implement and review, on a regular basis, employment policies and procedures.
* Implement policies and programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
Compensation & Benefits:
* Design competitive compensation and benefits structures to attract and retain talent.
* Ensure payroll and benefits administration comply with industry standards and legal requirements.
* Conduct periodic benchmarking to stay competitive in the market.
* In the absence of the HR Coordinator, the Head of HR must be able to compile monthly payroll information and submit it to the Payroll Bureau promptly, ensuring the accuracy of the returned data before employee payments are processed.
HR Operations & Compliance:
* Ensure and encourage dissemination and compliance of employment laws, employment regulations, and company policies.
* Maintain accurate HR records and oversee HR technology systems (Bright HR)
* Manage HR budgets and ensure cost-effective HR operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, and best practices.
* Proven experience in strategic HR planning and execution.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to drive organisational change and foster a positive work environment.
* Proficiency in HR software, data analytics tools and competency in all IT requirements.
* Commitment to continual personal development.
* The ability to accept and provide feedback, be challenged on advice given and work well under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and /or a Masters / Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology or a relevant business related subject
* Experience in digital transformation and HR technology implementation.
