Key Responsibilities:
* Your design duties will include production of specifications for either EHV substation plant, EHV cable or overhead line systems. Also, including tendering and evaluation to support project delivery.
* Applying the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 to major construction projects.
* In this role you will liaise with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure that necessary project construction can be carried out robustly, cost effectively and be technically compliant
* Proficiency with using Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, requiring first class communication and organisational skills.
Key Competencies:
* Previous experience in the design and construction of electrical distribution networks up to 132kV
* Engineering knowledge of EHV power systems
* Knowledge of engineering standards and contract management practices that include EHV plant, substations, cables or overhead line systems
* Knowledge of standards associated with EHV power systems up to 132kV
* Ability to manage and prioritise work to ensure project timescales are met
* The necessary background experience and technical knowledge to attain Competent Person status as defined in the Company’s Distribution Safety Rules to facilitate personal access to the Company’s operational sites
Qualifications and Attributes
* At least an HNC level qualification within a relevant subject or equivalent experience
* A full and valid driving licence is essential
