Job Description
Your new company
is a specialist ground works and civil engineering contractor that operates as a main contractor across the South East to refurbish, upgrade and re-instate elements of infrastructure as part of local authority frameworks as well as ground works, substructure and foundation works on Tier One jobs and private customers. They self-deliver civil engineering services with plant and labour as well as subcontractors on a variety of project schemes. Their schemes vary in size from remedial works of local assets valuing circa £5-10k up to Tier One Contracts with a value of £3-5 million.
Your new role
would be to ensure that the internal and external resources are planned and deployed in the most effective fashion regarding plant, labour, equipment, and management staff. The output would be to fulfil the demands of the multiple projects currently contracted and as a look ahead to the future. Reporting to the board of directors, you will learn the workings of all the departments, types of schemes, technical elements of the products, construction activities and nurture customer relationships. In practical terms, you would need to attend site visits, manage labour allocations of up to 15 gangs and be able to manage and report this process electronically (using MS Office).
Duties and responsibilities include:
1. Attend and chair meetings to check the right resources.
2. Deal with subcontractors.
